Maximizing Career Satisfaction

Faced with the constant demands of a highly volatile and growing global company, the Legal Department of a leading business intelligence vendor was dangerously close to burn-out. A year after a major merger had expanded the Legal Department across North America, Europe, and Asia, all the attorneys, managers, and support staff were feeling overworked and stressed out. Faced with a challenging workload and the additional burden of building a cohesive transnational team, many people in the department were dissatisfied with their own career development opportunities. The team needed to find a way to stay engaged and sustain their high performance as they began to plan and execute their 2006 goals and initiatives.


The TEG Solution

TEG planned and facilitated a three-day off-site meeting in Paris that focused on renewal, department planning, and personal development. TEG successfully integrated celebration, fun, and hard work to achieve amazing results. By the end of the three days everyone on the team felt refreshed, reenergized, reengaged, and recommitted to the team and to the new 2006 initiatives.

As part of the off-site meeting, TEG facilitated a workshop session on Maximizing Career Satisfaction. For many of the team members, this was the first time they had ever reviewed or discussed the alignment of their personal values with their current jobs. The members of the team worked together to coach and assist each other in recognizing current strengths and identifying opportunities for professional development. They then reviewed and affirmed their 2006 personal development plans.

After three days it was chocolate and champagne for everyone. Who says that work can't be fun and rewarding?
